Animas River
The
Animas River flows through Durango, Colorado. The
story of the Animas River is very old. Many people believe it haunts people at
night. This river is named animas because it means lost souls. Therefore the
Animas River is considered the river of lost souls.
The stories say that if you are walking along the Animas River at night,
the river calls out your name. It tries to put you in a trance so you could join the lost souls. You must be very careful not to listen to the river
as it
tries to make you a slave. If you go into the water, you will just disappear.
People have seen bodies walk into the water and disappear. Right afterward, they
hear the river call their name. A lot of people seen near the
river just happen to disappear never to be seen again. The families still
think they're missing, but you know where they really are....
