The Mancos Centennial Scholarship Fund was founded with a simple belief: every student in our community deserves the opportunity to pursue higher education, regardless of financial circumstances.
Each year, we award scholarships to graduating seniors from Mancos High School who have shown academic dedication, community spirit, and the drive to build a better future — for themselves and for Mancos.
We are entirely community-funded and volunteer-led, and we are proud to operate in partnership with the Community Foundation serving southwest Colorado. Every dollar donated stays local, going directly to Mancos students.

Mancos Centennial Scholarship
Established in 2009 by Mancos alumni to honor the centennial of Mancos High School’s opening, this scholarship celebrates the school’s legacy and the community members who have passed through its halls. It is awarded annually to a graduating Mancos senior who exemplifies the spirit of academic achievement and community pride.
Eligibility Requirements
- Graduating senior from Mancos High School
- Enrolling in a university, college, community college, or vocational/trade school
- Application form completed in full
- Current official transcripts submitted
- Three letters of reference submitted
Margie Bader Russell Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2017 by her family in memory of Margie Bader Russell, a cherished Mancos alumni who dedicated her life to the community as a long-time teacher and passionate supporter of Mancos athletics. This scholarship honors her memory and her belief in the potential of every Mancos student.
Eligibility Requirements
- Graduating senior from Mancos High School
- Enrolling in a university, college, community college, or vocational/trade school
- Application form completed in full
- Current official transcripts submitted
- Three letters of reference submitted
