This fall MHS offered a drones class as part of our Explore Pathways program. Students that explored this pathway earned college credits toward a number of degrees in aviation flight, mechanics and system control, and gained employable skills to help enter into a drone piloting career.
After course completion, students were encouraged to take the Unmanned Aircraft General-Small (UAG) exam. In order to fly your drone under the FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. This certificate demonstrates that you understand the regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones. Exam.
We had 11 students and one staff member pass the UAG exam:
- Noah Higinbotham
- Isaak Barnhurst
- Braxton Dennison
- Colby Lewis
- James Martin
- Alex Mykytiuk
- Soren Braford-Lefebvre
- Vanessa Poulsen
- Teagan Archer
- Audrey Stockton
