McGuffey Award Winner

Katie Cahill-Volpe, a school board member since fall 2019 and a parent in the district, has made significant contributions in her four years of service.  Katie played a pivotal role in updating the strategic plan, offered crucial support during the pandemic, participated in hiring a new superintendent, and authored a board members' handbook.  Katie also helped establish an annual superintendent evaluation process and actively contributed to policy development.  Beyond the school board, Katie represents us on the BOCES board and has served as Treasurer and Secretary.  Katie's solutions-oriented mindset, teamwork, and adaptability have been assets, drawing from her expertise in the publishing world. Katie's well-preparedness, diligent research, and meaningful contributions at board meetings are consistent.  Katie supports board decisions and advocates for parent education improvement. Her dedicated, hardworking approach has brought numerous improvements to our district and board governance. Mancos School District has benefited greatly from Katie Cahill-Volpe's commitment and contributions.
