Mancos High School was built in 1909, and the entire community prides itself on having the longest continuously used high school in the State of Colorado.

If you look at any Mancos high school student's schedule, you might find it hard to believe that you are in a small, rural Colorado high school. The one-two punch of project-based learning (PBL), and career pathways coursework provides our most senior Bluejays with opportunities for academic and career exploration that you might only expect in larger, urban school districts. Whether a student wants to carry on the family ranching tradition or explore the world of academia, Mancos High School has the coursework and the educators to make it happen.

Our teaching staff at the high school are highly qualified and seriously passionate about the work that they do, and our students are nothing short of amazing. Whether it’s an art show, a musical performance, an athletic event, or a PBL exhibition of learning, when you come to witness the work of our high school staff and students you will walk away impressed. We are proud to say that the Mancos High School is a model for excellence in not only our region, but in the state of Colorado and beyond. We encourage you to visit and see for yourself, and we know that once you do, you will want to see more!
