Student Representatives to the Board
The Board of Education values voices. Although we often get to speak to many adults, from parents, community members and staff, we often miss the voice of the youth. This includes our smallest to our soon to graduate. As board members, its our responsibility to make time to hear the voices, and we do our best to be present on campus, at events, and throughout the community. Sometimes, it’s hard to hear the students. This year, in the footsteps of many boards of education across the country, we are implementing student seats on the board of education, Two seats, both in a non-voting capacity and to be filled by selection of high school students, after a thorough application and interview process.
This is an opportunity for our students to participate in governance, to offer their voice and truly in the spirit of “PBL”, learn from the experience and seat.
Please encourage the high school students you know! We cannot achieve a diverse voice, if a diverse population does not apply.
