Crisis Communication
Mancos School District uses SchoolNow as our communications provider to send out school communications that include both general and emergency announcements. This notification system allows us to send out timely information via voice, text, and email. The system also allows us to push notifications to our website, mobile app and social media channels.

Mancos Matters - distributed each week and is district level information about what is happening
Bluejay Express - distributed biweekly with information about our secondary schools
Little Jay Journal - contains information relating to elementary school
Kids Corner - contains information relating to our preschool
Media Restrictions
It is important to note that under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), some personally identifiable information about students is protected.
Each year during registration, parents are given the opportunity to permit photo, video, name release.
Flyer Distribution in Schools
Mancos School District provides an information distribution service for third-party community events and activities that may be of interest to students, parents, and the broader community. This procedure ensures that all communications align with district guidelines and are shared in a consistent and organized manner.
