Superintendent Message

As we bid farewell to another remarkable year at Mancos School District, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for our tight-knit school community. This year marked our 145th year of nurturing and educating young minds, and it's been nothing short of exceptional. Our students have blossomed in both character and academics, achieving remarkable milestones across various endeavors, including bringing home the state football championship—an achievement that resonates with the resilience and determination ingrained in all Blue Jays.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our parents, the dedication of our educators, and the unity of our community. Our little Jays excelled with impressive growth in reading and writing and our older Jays dominated the state science fair. Together, we've fostered an environment where students not only thrive academically and in the arts but also acquire valuable skills and certifications, preparing them for individualized paths ahead. From earning CDL and Drone licensure to securing medical, welding, culinary, and business certifications, our students have showcased their versatility and readiness to embrace the challenges of tomorrow. As we send off our seniors to embark on their next adventures, whether it's pursuing higher education, serving in the military, or joining the workforce, we do so with the knowledge that they are equipped with hundreds of college credits, hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships, and the tools and knowledge to succeed.

Thank you to everyone who invested time and energy in shaping the bright lives of our BlueJays. Mancos remains a beacon of excellence and opportunity—a place where both healthy living and learning, thrive in harmony. In closing, I wish you a refreshing and restful summer as we replenish our resilience for a promising 2024-2025 school year.

Sincerely,

Todd Cordrey, Superintendent
