Helmet Program

The Denver Broncos, in a program called the All in All Covered, is teaming with Riddell and CHSAA to provide helmets to all High Schools in the state of Colorado.

On February 24th, two representatives from Riddell, visited Mancos High School and took measurements on 7 Bluejay football players who will be the 1st recipients of the Riddell Axiom helmets that are part of the All in All Covered program. The Axiom helmet is a high-tech helmet that records impacts that the helmets (and players) experience during practices and games. Reports can then be generated to see the level on impacts that the players are experiencing as well as where the impacts are occurring (front, side, back of the helmet, etc). Mancos HS football coaches may use this data to help improve techniques players are using throughout games and practice. The Axiom helmets are custom fitted for the player who will wear them. As players graduate, the helmets that they wore will be re-used for different players. Mancos coaches have been trained on how to get head scans for the next player to use each helmet. At the conclusion of each season, these helmets will be sent off to be reconditioned and have the batteries replaced. Those that are going to different players will be re-fitted with interior pads to reflect the head scan of the new player.

The All in All Covered program calculated the average size of football teams at each of the levels in Colorado and is distributing helmets based off that number. As an 8-man program, the Mancos Football Team will receive 26 total helmets over the course of the next 4 years. 7 this year, 6 in 2026, another 7 in 2027, and the final 6 helmets in 2028.

Mancos High School is appreciates this opportunity provided to the football program through the Denver Broncos, Riddell, and the CHSAA.
