FBI Privacy Statement and Fingerprint-Based Background Checks
As part of the employment process, applicants selected for certain positions may be required to complete a fingerprint-based criminal history background check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Federal regulations require that all applicants undergoing a fingerprint-based background check be provided with the FBI Privacy Act Statement before fingerprints are collected.
Please review the FBI Privacy Act Statement before scheduling your fingerprint appointment.
By proceeding with fingerprinting, you acknowledge that you have been provided access to the FBI Privacy Act Statement and have been informed of your rights regarding the collection and use of fingerprint-based criminal history information.
Applicants also have the right to obtain, review, and challenge the accuracy of completeness of any criminal history record information maintained by the FBI. Information regarding these rights is available within the FBI Privacy Act Statement.
Questions regarding the background check process may be directed to the District Office.
